Digging Into Mental Health Myths
- Mental health impairments impact one in five adults. Improving our awareness of how mental health disorders can affect the workplace is essential.
- Misinformation about mental health spreads quickly and can contribute to stigma and fear. This training will review common misconceptions about mental illness and provide education to dispel myths. We will discuss prevalence of the diagnoses, typical symptoms and characterizations, and how these diagnoses may be present in the workplace. We will also talk about expressing concern for others. Finally, we will discuss self-care strategies to help improve emotional health.
